About Us

In 2000, we founded Exposure Alaska on over 15 years of experience in organizing expeditions, educational programs, trips and adventure tours in some of the most remote areas of the world, from Antarctica to Alaska.

We've combined our passion for helping people enjoy the outdoors and challenge themselves, and our desire to share a little of our lifestyle in this amazing place.

As we enter our 10th season of operation, we're excited to bring you several new adventure tour options. We've modified our trips that include Denali National Park, making them the most active tours that we've seen that visit that area. We've also added the new Kayak-Mountaineering trip...a truly Alaskan adventure!

We could not have made it this far without our guides. They share our passion and are some of the most educated and experienced in the business. Even if you're not looking for a job, check out our employment requirements with the link below to get some idea of our standards.

Although we've grown a bit and no longer lead all of the trips ourselves, we still work hard to add that personal touch and most trips visit our home on the King's River. As one of our guests has put it:

How Exposure is different...

Small Groups
No more than 6 (adults only) on our scheduled 6 to 9 day adventure tours. The smallest group size in the business so you won't feel like you're in a herd of caribou. Our maximum is the minimum for many tour companies!

No extra charges or "options"
All activities and meals on the itinerary are included in the cost of your trip. No extra charges for the fun stuff. Shop around and compare!

Alaskan Owned and Operated
After living, working and traveling around the world, we've made Alaska our home because there's really no place else on earth quite like it. Some adventure tour operators based "Outside" (the lower 48) send a couple of guides up to Alaska a week before the guests arrive.

Unique and challenging itineraries
Each Exposure experience is different. Rather than plod the same routes trip after trip, we make adjustments based on the capabilities of the guests, weather, and new opportunities off the beaten path.

Experience Alaska, don't just look at it through a camera lens.
Alaska isn't Disney World, we think that in order to really experience what "The Great Land" has to offer you need to get out of the van and away from the highway. Leave the day trippers behind and let us help you get out there. Sure you might get a little tired and wet, but the rewards will be well worth it.

Real "Expedition" Kayaking
In order to really experience sea kayaking, you need to do more than a day trip. Our trips take a minimum of 3 days to get you out away from the tourist crowd. Camping on remote beaches and enjoying the splendor after the day-trippers have gone home.

A different kind of pace
If you want to see the top tourist attractions between Denali and Homer in 6 days, there are plenty of tour operators who can take you there. We take the time to get you away from the crowds and into the backcountry. Compare driving times with other tours.
